Would have been nice to have a lounge to socialize in with the people we were travelling with, only one chair in our room.

On arrival, reception was not staffed, I had to seek staff out in a restuarant with the lights off. The whole time I had no internet, a call to reception said" I had to book the internet" - which is nonsense.
I went into my office in Town to use my company internet.
Having left my key to leave, I had to return to get the key to let me back into the Hotel garage

A hotel from another time...

Like a hotel from the old days. Got a room overlooking the street, which is very busy all day. Balcony, dirty windows. Wall-to-wall carpet, bathroom with thin flabby towels, included blow dryer, soap for hands and a combined shower and hair shampoo. Felt that the pillows (down) in the bed made theirs, thin and flat. Plus is that the room had a great closet. The breakfast had more to desire for my taste, little to choose from, basic toppings, there was cheese and salami / ham and little else, sweet yoghurts, hard boiled eggs. Plus you got coffee on thermos to the table. About 20 min by train to Hamburg from station Blankenese.

No hotel standard, Max 2-3 stars

Breakfast no hotel standard, even youth hostels have better and fresher qualities. Tight and dark. You stood in the queue in the middle of the room and had to ask even previous guests...
White, cold, clean 90s splendour without service

The gentleman at check-in should have stopped working many years ago, so negative that you almost wanted to leave.
The breakfast was not great, few options.
