Memorable breakaway weekend
My wife and I had to get away for a relaxing weekend and decided on this guesthouse. What a wonderfully relaxing experience we had.
The rooms are perfect with a view of the Atlantic ocean. The staff is beyond friendly and makes the stay so much more relaxing. You are treated like family the moment you set your feet on the ground. I can recommend the breakfast and do order a cappuccino. It is as good as advertised. The owner prepared a braai for the Saturday evening (Lamb chops) and we had a great time. We will surely visit this gem again in the future.
Thanks Robbie and staff for a wonderful relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely nature, horrible hospitality.
What a terribly sad experience. We so much look forward to exploring the nature park, coastline, sunset... But was welcomed by a rather obnoxious and rude host "Robbie".
At first we asked for the possibility of an earlier check-in, but was told ZAR100 per person per hour... Even to drop our luggage and explore the surroundings.
We opted to do the security checks at noon at the gate, got our card and confirmed to come later after visiting Yzerfontein and having an early dinner.
Upon arrival at the property the security storms in behind us going off that the owner is demanding "who are the guests and what is their booking".
The more we explained to the assistant and security who we are and our booking via booking.com, the more confusion erupts and the owner is rude on the telephone. To a point where the security lady says "this man is always so rude to people" and turns around and drives off - us all standing in the driveway in disbelief as to what just happened.
Now the assistant phones the owner and keeps on asking "who are they?" and the more we explain and refer to the reservation and payment already taken, the more we stand in the (now heavy fog/ raining) weather... "a double and a studio room?" we say... The more the poor housekeeper man tries to figure out where we go... The more the situation between us as guests and the owner gentleman explodes.
A lovely space, good interiors, needs outdoor attention.
Wife tries to come up for her obnoxious and quite frankly narcissistic husband - and when I explained to her in German and English that "quite sadly we feel terribly unwelcome and uncomfortable with her husband being so combustible and hostile" the more she tries to justify his rude behaviour?
There comes a time when hosting or hoteliering is not in one's energy any longer, and sadly, this gentleman is at that point.
We cancelled the second evening purely because we don't feel comfortable. Explained to the wife thus and said "Respectfully we stay, go and cancel and that's it".
Then Robbie smirks "I think thats the best idea!"
In 22 years of being a hotelier myself, have I NEVER experienced something this horrible from guest hosts or hoteliers.
Such a stunning location, but sadly a full miss this time around. Some guests get the wonderful welcome and others (like us and the two ladies in the apartment next door who just shook heads and confirmed the same hostile welcome) were unlucky

Hostile Enviroment
Not a good experience!! The hostess created a hostile environment as the advertisement was misleading up to the one night we booked at the guest house. We have looked forward to a nice evening but unfortunate it didn't planned out.

Family time!
Wonderful 3 nights away with a large family group. Lovely veranda to enjoy sunsets and evenings BBQing. Hosts were super accommodating and lovely to get to know.
Accommodation was clean, good interior designed, basic self catering facilities available in each unit and super comfortable beds.
Communal entertainment space was part of the hosts private home which was not ideal for a large group. The area is very secure and safe. The 2 beaches are super close while sight seeing trips with the car are a short drive away.

Overnighter....
Rob the owner was very accommodating. He upgraded our room to a self catering unit at no charge. The stoep has a beautiful ocean view. Safe, secure, quiet.... Close to Melkbosstrand and Darling. Snoek braai for supper!
