Great location

When I arrived I had a bad feeling, it looks like a cheap hotel, old. We were well served, the entrance hall of the rooms is scary, it looked like a Hobbit village, small, low doors and one on the side of the other!The surprise was the room completely renovated, modern, wide (we got on top), mattress, bed linen, towels all of the first quality.The problem of breakfast (no coffee on the first day) is in the cake sweet, horrible!The location is unmatched, with many cafes, candy, bars and restaurants on the same floor.

Urgent renovations required

The area is practical and the breakfast was fine. For a short stay it is fine but the hotel has obviously not been renovated very long ago. It is like traveling to the past, furniture, walls and finishes need attention and a very good cleaning. The room is very dark, I opened the curtains but ran into very dirty windows. I think someone allergic would have a pretty hard time. The hotel has potential but needs maintenance.

The location is perfect in Lastarria district, which is a hip neighborhood with lots of food options. Walking distance to the city center, multiple metro stations are in walking distance. Very friendly and kind staff. The hotel is older and is on a busy street, but it is clean and has great breakfast. They arrange taxis for airport at a very reasonable set price. The hotel price is also unbeatable.

Good location - but nothing more

The Hotel Montecarlo is in a good location, right next to the Barrio Lastarria. The hotel itself is showing its age. The single room is very small. In the bathroom you can hardly sit on the toilet - due to lack of space. The rooms are clean. WiFi works - but you have to log in again regularly.
The Montecarlo will definitely NOT be my choice for Santiago.

Excellent location

Starting with the good:
-Excellent location in the Lastarria neighborhood, next to Santa Lucía Hill and practically around the corner from an area full of restaurants. It is also close to the Plaza de Armas and many historical monuments/buildings. It has metro stations nearby, making it easy to get to other parts of the city.
-Friendly staff
-Spacious room with views of the hill (6th floor). Good shower pressure.
-Very reasonable price for what it offers.
-It includes breakfast. (Although not very varied)
-The air conditioning worked correctly.
As a criticism, one could say that the furniture is somewhat old, it does not have a refrigerator and the most annoying thing is that the Wi-Fi did not work well, the signal was cut off all the time, making it very difficult to connect.
In any case, in terms of cost/benefit ratio, it is a recommendable hotel, although they should solve the problem of the poor internet connection.
